Ukrainian Philatelic and Numismatic Society (UPNS)

If you are interested in Ukrainian philately (stamp collecting) or numismatics (coin collecting), consider joining the Ukrainian Philatelic and Numismatic Society (UPNS).

The UPNS was founded in 1951 in the United States, and it is one of the world's foremost organizations devoted to the collection and research of Ukrainian philately and numismatics.

Areas of special interest include Independant Ukraine (1918-1920), Western Ukraine, Carpatho-Ukraine, occupational administrations (Russian, Soviet, Austrian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian and German), and modern Ukraine.

Some of the benefits of society membership include:

  • The semi-annual journal, Ukrainian Philatelist, which features in-depth articles covering various aspects of Ukrainian collecting
  • The bimonthly newsletter, Trident Visnyk, which keeps members abreast of Ukraine's latest stamp and coin releases
  • Handbooks and monographs on Ukrainian philately
  • A modestly priced expertising service for members
  • Periodic national conventions and exhibitions, UKRAINPEX, which is generally held in a different city every year or two

If you are interested in becoming a member, the UPNS annual dues are currently $25 per year (plus a one-time $2 registration fee).
