Stamp "Zero"

Soviet Ukrainian Sovereignty stamp

Ingert Kuzych's Ukrainian Postage Stamps -- A Catalog of Issues from 1991-1995 lists the Ukrainian Sovereignty stamp and gives it a catalog number of zero. Issued by the Soviet Union in 1991, it represents the first postal recognition of Ukraine by the Soviet government. The stamp portrays a girl in native Ukrainian costume holding an olive branch and a Ukrainian language banner proclaiming sovereignty.
