Marginal Inscriptions Return
As part of my arrangement with my stamp supplier, I received a corner block of each stamp that was issued. Aside from occasional appearances on the selvedge of souvenir sheets, one did not see any more marginal inscriptions on Ukrainian stamp blocks until some time in 2001.

In 2001, however, when I saw the fifth series of definitives (floral theme), I noticed color registration dots along the selvedge of blocks from the top-right. Along the top, left selvedge appeared a date inscription, along with ПК «Україна». This is the name of the printing compay, "Polyhrafichna Kompania," apparently better known as "Derzhznak." They have been printing Ukrainian stamps since 1995. Marginal inscriptions were finally back, and occasional design work even found its way to the selvedge. |
