Tom Moore was born in Piketon, Ohio on March 1, 1861. His father was an attorney. Moore "studied law, and was admitted to the practice of that profession at the age of twenty-two. He is still a member of the profession, and engaged with his father in active practice. The poems of this rising young barrister have been published from time to time in the lcoal press, and have been favorably commented upon. He married in 1881 to Mary L. Trip, and now lives in Jackson, in his native state."
