Commemorative Cancellations

I like the following first day cover because it features provisional postage stamps, which are one of my favorite collectibles. This is described in Lobko's catalog as a "commemorative cancellation" prepared by the Communications Production Section of the Poltava Post Office. They even went to the trouble of designing a pictorial cancellation, dated 23 September 1993. Affixed are three of the first six Poltava provisionals that are recognized by Lobko: 1-A (9 krb.), 2-A (18 krb.), and 3-B (27 krb.). Another interesting detail is the Soviet "CCCP" cancellation over the lower two stamps.
